Loretto has been a recognised Investors in People organisation since 2009.
Investors in People (IiP) is a proven business improvement framework that can improve financial performance, profitability, productivity and increase employee involvement and focus. Loretto uses the IiP framework to plan and improve on success, whilst recognising and developing our most valued asset - our people.
Loretto’s award of Investors in People Gold represents "achievement of world class best practice. It shows a truly cutting-edge organisation is operating at the very highest levels of people management practices using Investors in People to drive the business forward." (Investors In People 2011)
Loretto achieved a minimum of 126 evidence requirements beyond the IiP standard to achieve Gold recognition.
Loretto participates in the Investors in People Champions Group.
Investors in People Champions are a group of role model organisations who promote Investors in People through a series of best practice sharing activities.
Champions come from a variety of backgrounds from the private, public and third sector, ranging in size from less than ten to thousands of employees, and can provide relevant assistance to any organisation interested in becoming recognised as an Investor in People.
The purpose of the Champions programme is to:
Recognise and reward organisations which have been outstanding in promoting the values and principles of Investors in People.
This includes leading by example in the way staff are managed and developed through encouraging the dissemination of good practice in people management, supporting continuous improvement, and raising performance.
Loretto have been participating in the Healthy Working Lives scheme since 2007. The scheme supports employers and employees to promote healthy and safe living. We also work with our tenants and service users to promote healthy lifestyles.
We have held the Two Ticks disability symbol since 2008. This symbol shows that we are formally recognised as being "positive about disabled people."
The symbol is awarded by Job Centre Plus to employers that have made commitments to employ, keep and develop the abilities of disabled people. We are audited every year based on 5 commitments:
We encourage applications from all areas of the community. This commitment means that we will offer an interview to all disabled candidates who meet the minimum essential requirements of posts being advertised.
We have signed the "See Me" pledge to tackle the stigma that can be associated with mental health issues.
Loretto have signed up to the Mindful Employer Charter, which recognises the commitment to the mental health needs of our current and future workforce. Loretto aims to show a positive and enabling attitude to employees and job applicants with mental health issues.
Loretto became an IiP Employer Representative in 2011, supporting IiP Scotland to verify that the requirements of the IiP framework are being met within daily business practice.
